Garrucha is set in a beautiful and romantic corner of Spain. The nearest airport is Almeria which is 89km away. Visit the whitewashed hilltop town of Mojacar Pueblo which is only 4.5km away with its stunning views to the sea and quaint cobbled streets.

 

 

In Mojacar every June the locals celebrate the "Moors and Christians" 3 Day Festival.

 

Enjoy a family day out at the nearby new "Parque Aquatico Vera" which is less than 5 minutes drive from Fuentemar. A local bus service also operates to the waterpark.

The park is beautifully landscaped with a stunning mountain backdrop and has all facilities for a great day out.

 

Visit other small villages - see the real Spain. Mix with the friendly locals.

Visit the nearby town of Vera with its history and architecture dating back to the 16th Century, bullring and "Fiestas" held throughout the year.

Travel further afield to the Cabo de Gata Nature Reserve which has more than 1000 species of plants and 80 varieties of birds in a wonderful setting.

 

 
A 45 minute drive brings you to "Mini Hollywood", the town of Tabernas where the Spaghetti Westerns were filmed along with classics such as Lawrence of Arabia, Back to the Future and Mad Max.
